What can I do? I don't have any receipt to quote when I phone? Green card has expired and we are do to travel abroad in January 2015.

Did you apply for your 10-year Green Card or a replacement for a lost Green Card?

Either way, you can get an I-551 extension stamp in your passport, which will allow you to travel, by scheduling an INFOPASS appontment at an USCIS office. Go to:
