I graduated with a masters degree from the USA. I've applied for an OPT 2 months before the end of the semester. I was working on a project under a professor and worked past the last day of the semester. I was under the impression that the graduation day is the final day of the university and made this error.
I informed the same to the international office at my university and they told me to leave the USA and terminated my OPT. After few weeks, I received a mail from USCIS saying that I can file a petition to reopen or reconsider this decision.
Could someone please let me know on how to proceed to resolve this issue? Also what other options do I have?
