  • Urgent!!! Expired Indian Entry Visa - Please Advise

    Hello Forum Members,
My daughter, who is a US Citizen by birth, is currently in India on an Indian entry Visa. Her entry visa got expired recently(a month ago). If she needs to come to the US in the next few months, can she travel to US without any issues or do we need to apply for visa extension.

Where can I get her Indian visa renewed?
How long does the process take?
Is applying for a PIO card a better and faster option in India? I heard from my fiends that getting PIO card in india is lengthy process..

Will the Indian immigration people create any problems if the visa is not renewed and she wants to travel to the US?

Please advise and thanks in advance!

She is US citizen and wants to travel to the US. As long as she has US passport, she can travel to the US. No one can stop her from doing that.

Yes, PIO card is a lengthy process. Read New

Not sure if she's allowed to stay in the country on an expired visa. You ought to speak to someone at the nearest FRRO. She can apply for PIO there. It'd take a couple of months. But, with an expired visa, you ought to enquire first.
