Indian visa without renouncing pakistani citizenship

Did anyone out there get a visa to India without renouncing their Pakistani citizenship? My husband applied for renunciation of Pakistani citizen a couple of months ago. As soon as he recd the receipt of the same he applied for his India tourist visa. Now after a couple of months, no updates from either embassy.
Just wondering if anyone has got a visa just based on receipt that renunciation is in process.

It is possible for Pakistani citizens to get India visa but it takes much longer and the procedure is more complicated.

If the person was ever a citizen of Pakistan, the longer procedure applies even if not currently Pakistani citizen.
