Passport for New Born in India (Father in US & Mother in India)

I am in US and my wife is in India.

We are blessed with a baby boy last week in India , Now I wanted to make passport for my this newly born .

I have situation here

· I have my wife’s name in my passport , but my doesn’t have my name added in her passport

· My son is born in my wife’s home (and my wife has the passport with the same address where my son is born)

I have asked an agent and he told me it’s not possible because my wife passport doesn’t have my name on her passport , and she should have added my name first before getting the passport for kid.

And if she will try to add my name in her passport , the police inquiry will go the address which is my passport and I am no more living there.

In other words it’s not possible to get the passport for my son.

Please suggest is there any way I can make the passport for my son

That is not correct. You don't need to get your add name added in your wife's name or vice versa.

At the most, you need marriage certificate.

Contact the passport office directly and do not fall into the traps of so called agents.

Passport for kid in India, father in US

Hi,

I am in USA from the past 2 months. I would like to apply for passport for my kid who is in India. My wife is in India with valid US visa.
Is it sufficient that my wife alone can be present in India to apply for the passport of my kid. If not, could you please let me know the process in detail.

your wife itself can apply for passport for your child .

your presence is not needed for this.
