Alternate to PIO Card to enter India

Hi Members,

Please suggest me any good option for my problem.

My son is 2 months old and I have his valid US Passport. My wife and kid has to travel due to emergency in October. Our H1 visa is not yet approved so I cannot apply PIO card for my son.

Is there a alternate way to take him to country, many say i should get a visitor visa and then apply PIO card from India. Actually my wife and son will be back by March, so should i wait untill they are back to apply for PIO card?

Please suggest..

A tourist visa would be the cheapest. In India, it's easy to apply for PIO.
