How to get Airway Bill number without sending the documents ?
Same for prepaid.

Create a Fedex/UPS account and you can print the waybills and they have the number.

Were you able to get this done? I have the same issue. I am not sure how to go about getting the Aiway Bill number. I have created the FedEx account. Do I "create shipment" to get the airway bill number?

While attempting to fill the order form, we need to get the Waybills from FedEx/UPS. What would be address to send the passport to? What would be the address from where we receive the new passport

BLS air way bill number issue

I am trying to send all the documents for OCI with renunciation for myself and my 1 year old.

I looked at the OCI order form "To obtain delivery service directly online with FedEx, Please Click Here"

I clicked and paid 28 dollars expecting airway bill number but I havent received anything but an email from BLS with reference number.

I see in this thread everyone is using Fedex or UPS to generate Airway Bill number ? I was too late without reading i purchased it on the BLS order form and now I am not sure what to do?

Have anyone actually used this ? or am I stuck . No help from BLS and it says non refundable thats 56 dollar for to and fro. My green card and US citizenship applications were easier than getting OCI ...wow...

Same as yours I received auto-generated email with reference number. But I'm also confuse, what to fill in Airway bill number next to "prepaid delivery - YES".

I am planning to send that auto-generated email printout to BLS in mailing package. Also I have decided to stop by in fedex office to check if that reference number in email is same as Airway Bill number. (as digit format 3-7-1 matches).

Yes - I stopped by to fedex office to check if reference# provided in email was a tracking number or not. But it was not helpful.

Finally I decided to forget about those $28 spent.

I went to FedEx office & got sending label & returning labels. Also remember tracking number is same as Airway Bill No.

Thanks a lot, if you have paid $28 by credit card you can always dispute and reverse the charges.

While filling Online Passport Order Form, I went ahead and paid for Prepaid delivery using 'To obtain delivery service directly online with FedEx, Please Click Here'. I was charged $28 for this. But I didn't get what to give in 'Airway Bill no' or 'FedEx transaction details'. can someone please let me know what to do here?

I was able to get Customer service and they replied that the 28 dollars we paid is for auto generated BLS delivery from FeDex so , we have to select NO as prepaid option and that way BLS will generate fedex airway bill number for return of OCI card.

Here is the catch- looks like she was as confused as I was so I decided to forget that 28 dollars and go ahead with printing my airway bill number.

Hope this works, looks like everyone is doing this way, dont want to experiment with already cumbersome OCI process.

Thank you for the update from BLS customer center! I think I was too late to read this post. I just paid $28 on their website thinking it will give me airwaybill number...But now I will dispute that and go through the airwaybill route !!!!1 Gosh !!!!!!!!!!!!! Why does it have to be so complecated??? This is rediculous !!!!!!!! BLS is horrible !!! with all faulty instructions !! Hopefully we will get the original passport back with my ****y's PIO card...I am already frustrated and this is just the beginning of the process...

If you kid is born in US he is technically US citizen, you can't apply indian passport as he is a US citizen, you will need to get indian visa on US passport as far as I understand, you can't hold two passports , unless you don't want your kid to not hold US citizenship, that might be another way.

I just paid $28 on their website thinking it will give me airwaybill number...But now I will dispute that and go through the airwaybill route !!!!1 Gosh !!!!!!!!!!!!! I know I was as frustrated as you are, once you set Fedex account it is very easy for airway bill, it is nothing but a tracking number , after that just make a checklist and send. I wish we all send our feedback and hopefully in future it will be made easy, but it is most complicated process I have seen so far.
