Applying for OCI and renunciation together

I need to apply for OCI card and renunciation together for both myself and for my wife. I am trying to find the info from BLS web site but i am confused about few things. If someone can share info about the documents/number of copies they sent, it would help. Here are some of my questions.

1. If we apply for both OCI and renunciation together, how many copies of supporting documents we should send? Is there any particular order that we need
to keep the documents in the envelope?
2. Do i need to send the payment separately for OCI and renunciation for myself and separate checks for my wife or just one check is enough?
3. Do i need to send two return envelopes (one for OCI card and one for renunciation certificate)?

1. Treat OCI and renunciation as separate applications, and submit the supporting documents for each. Typically 2 copies of every document. No particular order to be kept in the envelope.
2. Separate MO per person per application. So for OCI+Renunciation for 2 people, you will need 4 checks.

Thanks a lot. I am trying to print a return shipping label on FedEx website. It asks for a return Ship date and i am not sure what to select here. Is it ok if we select any future date (approximately 2 months from now)? Can you please share what you did? I did UPS which did not ask for a return date. I guess you can pick any return date, it should not really matter.

Proof of Name change for OCI + Renunciation

I have been following these threads and they are very useful as I am applying for OCI and renunciation together.
My name changed when I got my US citizenship. So the only proof I have is the Naturalization Certificate and US passport.
Can someone please help me with this?

I have been trying to contact BLS NY office for the past week or so and looks like there contact information is not right or working...

I would appreciate if you can answer my questions as couple of you recently applied for OCI and I am trying to apply for the same along with renunciation..

OCI questions -

1. Family Signatures on OCI part-b application. There are 2 lines on part b and there are boxes for parent's signature in case of minor childern. Since we are applying as family of 4 and all 4 signatures are required per instructions, where can all of us sign since there are only 2 lines? Should parents just sign or does kids need to sign as well?

2. For renunciation is there separate online form or I just check the box when I fill out for OCI card?

3. Since we are sending one envelope as a family what should the airway bill no. be for the prepaid delivery.

Should I fill the same outgoing tracking no. on all BLS order forms and take multiple return envelopes and use one each for each of us?

4. I have taken separate cashier checks for renunciation fees and OCI fees..can I give multiple cashier check nos on online order form or should I take one cashier check?

5. Can we discard the current OCI application for family and start over as individual application as that process seems to be straight forward instead of family application?

6. How many sets of documents do we need to send if applying for renunciation and OCI? I see that 2 sets is mandatory..but since we are applying for OCI and renunciation, do I send 4?

Here is what I did

1. on part A, each applicant signed. My daughter who is 9 year old signed, and for son I took thumb impression. On part B, myself and wife signed in first two boxes. and for kids section ,we signed on their behalf.

2. There is a separate renunciation form , you need two copies.

3. There are two field to put airway bill number, going to BLS and returning to yourself. When you select postal - put going to BSL tracking number, for prepaid, put returning to yourself tracking number.

Single tracking number and only one envelope is needed

4. I think you can provide multiple check numbers, I had one money order for each application.

5. There is no need to discard, you can use the same application.

6. I am listing what I sent and at this stage is is accepted by BLS

I could have sent single money order but Walmart can not do a money order for more than $1000, so settled for four different based on fees for each applicant.

OCI plus renunciation

So after almost a week since BLS received my application, I got 6 emails on Saturday mentioning they accepted my application. 4 emails are for OCI for each person and 2 emails are for renunciation. I can now track my application for OCI as well as renunciation on BLS website. So far the status says application was received and accepted. It seems they are processing renunciation first before they can move forward with OCI application.

This is what it shows when I track using my passport for renunication status. Similar message is displayed when I check for OCI status.

Current Aplication Status : Your Application has been accepted at BLS center for further processing. Kindly note it may take up to 48 working hours for status to change.

I mailed my documents for OCI + Renunciation to Chicago last week. Still waiting on receipt acknowledgement. Hope everything goes well before early summer so I can visit my parents.
