Affidavit of No status for passport renewal

I am planning to apply for my passport renewal. I have a valid status in US with valid I797 & I94 but my older visa is expired on passport. so I have to submit notarized affidavit of NO status. Given below is requirement mentioned in BLS website & check list form.
"Notarized Affidavit of No Status with notarized photocopy of the valid Indian passport and the valid green card of two witnesses."

Questions:
1) I don't know someone with green card in united states. Is green card copy of witnesses mandatory ?
2) Can I submit affidavit of two witnesses & notarized photocopy of their valid India passport only ?
3) Instead of green card, should I submit witnesse's I797 copies or visa copy or any other documents ?

Please help.

No Status Affidavit form

Hi,

I am facing the sam issue while applying for passport renewal through ckgs website.
In No Status affidavit it is asking for witness details where it says it says that "Witness must be an Indian Passport and Green Card Holder."
I do NOT know any person having Green Card.

Person I know has indian passport and I-140 approved.
Please let me know what should I do.

So anyone who does not have an Green card needs to get a No Status affidavit ? Why ? Does ckgs website have a sample for this affidavit ? Can someone post a link to it ?

If you have I797 approved, do you still need to get this No Status affidavit ?

I actually sent them the No Status Affidavit along with the two Indian citizens who were green card holders. They still said Consulate requires valid legal status. Now my application is stuck somewhere and they are not even responding to my dozen calls and emails as to what I should do. I need a valid passport as my wife is petitioning for my green card. This happened with the Chicago CKGS office. Anyone else has dealt with this situation?

why you guy like to rush everything up? must apply with complicated status? must OCI? what's purpose? if just visit why not apply VISA?
