Applying for US Citizenship and renewal of expired Indian Passport at the same time

Hi everyone,

I would like to know if I will have any issues if I apply for my US citizenship and renew my expired Indian passport at the same time. Its been about a month since my passport expired. Should I wait for my passport to be renewed before applying for US citizenship or can I do both at the same time? Any help is appreciated.
