India Entry visa for baby, while parents' US visas field for extension

I am an Indian citizen working in US. My US visa is expiring and I would be applying for US visa extension. While my visa extension is in process, I would be applying for Indian visa (Entry visa) for my US-born child (US citizen). Can someone tell whether we will face any issue in getting India visa for the newborn if my US visa has expired and extension is filed (and what if extension is rejected)?

When we apply for child's Indian Entry Visa, both parents' i797 and i94 would be expired and visa extension would be applied. We would have receipt notice that visa extension has been applied. Will we get India Entry visa for the child?
