PIO Endorsement / Original US Passport Lost..Please advise

Hi All,

I saw an old post on PIO endorsement of new US passport when the original is lost. I am wondering what the process today is.

My 6 year old got his US passport renewed in Sep 2013. His valid PIO card is endorsed to his old US passport and which is lost.

We have the following:
1. Valid PIO card endorsing a lost US passport.
2. Renewed US passport.
3. Photocopy of the original passport (where he was an year old).

Like many here, I have tried the phone number and escalation email with no success.

With these in hand, what are my options to get an endorsement for new US passport of my minor son. Please advise.

I had sent an escalation email yesterday and moments ago,I got the following response. This helps a lot.

Kindly note that if you have copy of previous passport you can apply
for 'PIO Endorsement-New Passport'. If you do not have the copy of the
previous passport , you need to apply for new PIO.
