Originally posted by hemdosh View PostThanks Vishnu. I am also corresponding with Shankar at BLS. It is hard to keep a polite tone in the e-mail. It frustrates me to no end that we have to fight for our own money. I do cc ocipio and mincons, but they never respond to complaints. I don't know if anyone even reads the e-mails. Who are Neeraj and Sameer? Do you have their e-mail address? Thanks again.
Neeraj and Sameer are some higher-ups in BLS [email protected] ;[email protected]. This I know for fact that consul Dhirendra Singh (ocipio) reads emails sent to him. He won't always reply but he is reading them. Contact him directly if you feel it is needed and he is quite likely to respond within a day or two. He is our friend at the consulate.
Good Luck!

Need refund please help!
My name is Rakesh, iIhad applied for OCI with renunciation at Atlanta bls international services. I had been reading the posts and found I am not the only one, I submitted my application on May 15th 2014, they sent the application back and cashed the money orders worth $462.40. I emailed financequery too but after submitting all the required documents there has been no reply since. I even drove 3 hours the Atlanta from South Carolina and meet the manager Ekta Soni, and she didn't show her face once she knew that we were there for our refund. Can anyone please help me? I have read some posts that some of the people got there refund back, thats great!

Good luck all - I hope you get a refund of your hard earned money from this bunch of thugs.

Keep sending them e-mails at least once a week with cc to consulate. Unless we keep up the pressure, we are not going to get the refund. Good luck and keep posting with your experience.

Got the check
Finally, after 3 months and countless e-mails, I received my refund check. They docked off $20.00 without giving any reason. At this stage I am not going to pursue this any further. Just glad that I got my $1171 back. Never thought I would be so happy to receive my own money back!! Now just hope that check does not bounce.
For everyone out there waiting for refund, be persistent and keep them sending e-mails. Good luck.

[email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]. Initially I got a run-around that check is in process and will be mailed soon. I kept on sending e-mails every few days with cc to all the above individuals. When they realised that I am not going to give up they finally refunded the money. Mr. Shankar at BLS at least responds to the e-mail so try this route. DO NOT GIVE UP. Good luck.
Unfortunately, indian bureaucracy and corruption follow us wherever we go.

Thanks
Vishnu, thank you for your helpful suggestions. This is one experience I will not soon forget and I will never forgive the indian govt for putting us through this. I have decided that I am no longer going to apply for the OCI card and will just get the tourist visa every 10 yrs. Not that it makes any difference to the indian govt.
