I have the following queries.
My Mother aged 74 is a British Citizen/PIO.She has lived
close to 40 years in India,though she is born and lived
in the UK till age 30.My Father was an Indian National.
Query 1 : Recently in January she moved to the UK to stay
with my elder Brother for a few months.Before
leaving she had submitted the necessary details
to the local police.In the letter to the police she
had stated that she would be gone for 3 Months.
The time of her stay in the UK has exceeded 3 Months.
Is this OK ? or should she return within the stipulated
time in her covering letter which was an approximation.
Since she has an PIO should she register immediately
when she comes back ?
Query 2 : How long can a Foreign National / PIO stay abroad to
lose her residential Status ?
Query 3 : This time round when my Mother comes she intends to
transfer her residence permanently and Her Money in the
Bank.Will there be any legalities we would have to be
aware of during Transfer ? The SBI informed us that
transfer below a Million Dollars isn't a problem.
Query 3 : We run an establishment/Hospital in our Home City,we would
like to keep running it ,even though all the family members are
living in the UK,is this possible ? Any legalities we need to be
aware of here ?
Query 4 : Can Banks FD's be left in the Bank ,with everyone's address
changed ? silly question ?
