Indian Passport Renewal in USA
Hi ALL - I need your assistance as per my current situation. I am currently on H1b visa and my visa is valid till 2015 plus i got my second extension also. No issues with visa. Issue is with the passport. I am travelling to India in Aug 2014 and will be back in Sep 2014. My passport expires Nov 2014. I was checking online to get the passport renewed here in USA.
1. Can I come back to USA in Sep 2014, my passport validity is till Nov 2014. Once I am here I can get it renewed.
2. BLS states it will take 6-8 weeks to get this done, so this possibility is ruled out for me for time being as I need to travel in first week of August
3. Once I am in India can I get this passport renewed under Tatkal Scheme, and if yes what is the procedure and timelines?
Please suggest the best available option for me as you guys are expert on this. Very confused and worried.
