Pio vs oci

Dear sir
if husband and wife are indians but newborn is american. then can we get oci for the kid rather than pio.
Lots of confusion is there,it seems oci is better?

1. No, kid can not get OCI in that case.
2. PIO card is better any way because it is valid for 15 years. For kids, you need to get new OCI card every time you get them a new passport, which is every 5 years. Even if eligible, never go for OCI card for kids.
