CKGS NY office Passport returns

Has anyone ever received their passport back from CKGS NY office through FedEx or other postal means?

After a long wait, my daughter’s visa was approved by Indian embassy and I assume the passport is with CKGS. However reading the other posts, CKGS is not showing any sense of urgency or committed to returning the passports back to the customers after they received them from the Indian embassy. It appears even if you show up in person, it is not certain that you will get the passport back. I have an overseas trip in 2 weeks and wondering if I would be better off to apply for a new passport given the dysfunctional state of affairs at CKGS and Indian embassy.


Visa application date to CKGS: May 28
Application at the Indian Embassy: June 9
Document back at CKGS: June 16

I had originally applied for OCI reissue that BLS sat on for 3 months and retuned the application back (had I known that BLS would so this and we can travel with Old passport, new passport, and OCI card, I would have not even submitted the visa application).

Same here... Not sure when they are going to ship it back!!!Not sure what is holding them up returning the passports!

I am also facing a similar problem. After the handover to CKGS took place, I applied for my son's PIO card via post to CKGS New York on May 30. The current online status shows that CKGS NY has received the documents back from the Indian Consulate on June 18.

Its 6 days now and they still have not sent my son's passport and his PIO card to us.
