OCI Reissue - Taking a lot of time, need to travel (for Minor)

HI Team,

I applied for my Son's OCI Reissue. Submitted on Mar 31st and there has been no progress.

We are planning to travel to India a in a few days. Can I still use his old passport (This has the U Visa)? I know lots of people have done this, but wondering if there any issue when a re-issue is in progress.

You should have submitted the old passport and oci card when applying for the reissue. I think that's what is causing the delay. BLS was very bad in its communication.
Anyways you can travel with the old and new passport with the oci card.

I should have mentioned; I applied in Toronto Region, Canada. Here, BLS will send back the Old passport/Other documents back after applying. They send it back within a week or two.

Do you have a consulate close by? If so don't hesitate to make a visit. They might hold your son at the port of entry if there's no U-sticker in his new passport, the laws are very stringent these days. I would suggest you to not take a chance, contact the consulate immediately and get it going.

Am also in the same boat trying to applying for OCI re-issue for minor but I don't have the old passport nor the OCI card as they were lost/stolen from BLS location in Atlanta.

Sorry, no. My case has not moved in the last three months - I applied on March 31st and the Misc query still says it is "under process".
