I applied for passport renewal for my 6-year old daughter on 9-May through BLS. After 3 weeks passed, I started following up. BLS mentioned that the application is with the consulate, and they had no further information. After many attempts (phone calls and e-mails) to reach the consulate, I got a one-liner response - "This is pending for want of clearance from RPO Pune where from her current passport had been issued."
I tried to contact them a number of times after this asking for more information - to understand what the next steps are, if there is anything that I can do to move the process etc. But I have not received any more responses from them. They never pick up the phone or respond to voice messages as well. In the meantime, my daughter's passport expired.
Does anyone have any idea what happens next? We used to live in Pune but do not have any presence there now. Will the Pune office ever do anything or respond? If not, what can I do to get her passport?
