As you know BLS Atlanta location misplaced/lost our US passport along with OCI card.
After months of trying to get a straight answer, I called US State Dept - reported that our US passport was stolen from BLS Atlanta premises and applied for a NEW US passport at our local post office.
It will take another 3-4 weeks to get the NEW passport. In the meantime, am looking at OCI re-issue documents needed.
We have a planned trip to India in November and am in a dilemma whether to apply for OCI re-issue or just get a 10 year multiple entry visa. Suggestions?
I looked at the OCI re-issue document requirement and below is the check list.
OCI Miscellaneous Service Form(Part A and Part B need to be signed and notarized)
CKGS Order Form
Additional Particular Form
One (1) passport sized photo
Copy of United States passport
Original OCI card
Can someone who has been thro' the same process please verify and confirm.
Also, CKGS requires a copy of original OCI card. As I never received the approved OCI card - can I just provide a written statement explaining what happened at BLS?
