I am one of the victims of the BLS money scams! Due to travel coming up shortly, I applied in person at CKGS nyc for tourist visa (10 yr multiple for my daughter) three weeks back. Stood in line at 9 and applied hoping , no praying, to receive it back within a week. Within three days my application was "with EMBASSY FOR PROCESSING", ok progress,( or so I thought) and then all activity stopped for two weeks . I received an email on the 14 th day that My application for PIO was withdrawn on my request (shocker) and another email stating my application was submitted for tourist visa. After recovering from the shock, I followed up with CKGS customer service who themselves were very confused as to why my application had a second tracking # , I received an email stating ignore the first email and the second ID is the correct ID and it is now with embassy. Finally on the 22nd day I received an update saying it is back from embassy and being sorted and shud be fedexed within 1 business day. which then turned into 3 business days without any application returned. with one week of travel left, I decided to visit the CKGS NY Office again and arrived 15 minutes early at 345 .
Standing outside on the street in temperatures hitting 90 were fifty + applicants, children and senior citizens included, to collect passports . after 2 hrs of standing outside the security guard who repeatedly asked us not to ask him any questions coz he "did not know anything" collected our receipts and two hours later came outside calling Out random names and just hands out ppt without checking any ID on the street !!!! I was only the tenth person who got it after 2 hours of waiting How did it go for me u think? Am relieved i got my passport but the indian customer service guy who called me now to tell me my ppt was ready for pickup may have just resigned from his first job . BTW Ignore the email CKGS sends asking us to pick from 9-6 , THEY DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO PICKUP PASSPORTS FROM 9, only go there btw 4-6 AND pray that your ppt was not given already to someone else.
