OCI Tracker - CKGS (Atlanta location)

I saw there was no thread tracking specifically for CKGS Atlanta location and have decided to start one.

We applied for OCI under Lost/Damaged category for our minor son.

Below are the list of documents sent(TWO SETS):

1. OCI Miscellaneous Service Form(thumbprint and notarized)
2. CKGS Order Form
3. Additional Particular Form(notarized)
4. 1 passport photo(2x2)
5. Copy of US passport
6. Self affidavit regarding loss of OCI card(Notarized)
7. Copy of Parents cancelled(renunciation) Indian passports.
8. Copy of Parents Driver's License(as proof of address)
9. Parental Authorization Form(notarized)
10. Total Fees - $120 + $15(for return shipping via FedEx) paid via Credit Card.

We mailed on Friday and it was delivered on Monday but so far no email or tracking info from CKGS yet.

Note: CKGS website did not provide a payment for FedEx so took a printout of the confirmation page and screenshot of credit card transaction.

I have applied for my wife @Atlanta location and I have received nothing but tracking number and since 6th of july it is saying same thing nothing change.
We are not the only one I guess.

My application is with the consulate since July 16th and it still shows being under processing.

My guess is that GOI waits until they hit the 42 day mark before completing the processing of OCI. Based on this, I should expect OCI to be approved 2 weeks from today.

No update regarding our OCI application and approaching the 45 day mark !

Why does this take so long - I mean all you have to do is verify the documents submitted and process the application. Does GOI do any background check? criminal check etc for the process to be delayed ???

Received on July 16th at CKGS in Atlanta.

Sent to the Embassy on July 24th(CKGS SITE INFO). Indian website info- Acknowledgement date July 21st. Have to wait 42 days from July 21st to see what happens.

After 55 days since the application was sent, the status changed to PROCESSED....
