Yes, I called the consulate after 2.30 pm EST and they told me that they received our passports today from CKGS. They will be sending our documents back tomorrow to CKGS and CKGS will then send them to us by the courier service option we selected.

Called CKGS call center and they were useless.

Initially, they said I need to send our passport for match-up. When I let them know that it's already been done, they said wait 2 weeks.

I asked them to check their own online website and then, the customer rep confirms they received documents back from consulate which is a lie as they did not have this information few minutes earlier.

I was asked to send an email to "[email protected]"

Update: Nevermind, this email bounces back as undeliverable...

Most likely your documents will be sent out today or tomorrow and you should receive an email from CKGS with the tracking number.

Getting ridiculous with CKGS.

They sent an email stating they do not have record of my $15 payment for FedEx and holding my application. Thank goodness, I took all screenshots of their website when I made payment.

I will send them along with credit card statement(which I included in the initial package) and hopefully, they will act quickly.

It's becoming clear that someone from BLS must have started CKGS or affiliated otherwise, there is no excuse to manage this process this way.

I can only image that others who may not have taken screenshot would either have to pay $15 additionally or collect in person. Nice way for CKGS to make additional money!!!

Note: For other applicants, include a prepaid envelope yourself or better get USPS which is only $5 for 2-day priority mail...

Now they have to send your documents since you have given them proof.

I finally got my refund yesterday via USPS for the extra that I paid from CKGS New York, that is where their head office is located and where the accounts department is located.

I had to send numerous email back and forth to get my refund.

I have learnt one thing- if you sit tight, nothing moves. You have to be behind these guys if you want to get your stuff soon. If I had not called the consulates (Delhi and Atlanta), it would have taken longer.

If only they should follow their own process, we should not have to worry. But that is not the case as I found out the hard way.

Now they have to send your documents since you have given them proof.

OK. If I did not call again this morning, I probably would be waiting even longer.

CKGS said they received the proof but will process over the next 2-3 days. I said, they need to send out today since they have proof and they asked me to email [email protected] to escalate.

I emailed, lets see if they mail out today and send me a tracking number.

Called again today and the same message - will take 2-3 additional days. I reminded them that CKGS will be closed on 10/2, 10/3, 10/4, 10/5 and 10/6 and the call center in Bombay said they were helpless...

Finally, finally after 6 emails and 5 phone calls - I see the "track my application" shows FedEx courier number.

I checked and I see it was dispatched at 6.30PM yesterday(apparently must be left out for FedEx to pick up - how secure can this be??) and with 2 day delivery I should expect it by Friday evening...

Recevied US passport and OCI this afternoon. 85 days end to end!!!

This was our second time applying for OCI after BLS lost/sold our US passport.

BTW, BLS has not refunded us nor will Indian consulate help.

Not really.

The date of issue of US passport in the OCI(last page) does not match the date of issue from the US passport. Will this cause an issue in future?

Why can't they see what the date of issue is in the passport and enter that correctly in the OCI ???????????????????
