Thanks to Tampaite and JoeGo. I received my child's OCI reissue (new foreign passport with U visa and OCI registration). I did not receive my child's expired foreign passport and cancelled Indian passport. Will this arrive separately?

When you say "expired foreign passport" did you mean old US passport?

Also whose cancelled Indian Passport was it (parents or minor)? As far as I recall, it was not needed to send the original cancelled Indian passport or original surrender certificate for Reissue.

I just checked, you are correct I did not send the original cancelled Indian passport. But I sent my son's original expired United Kingdom passport with the old OCI sticker and it has not been returned. Should I have to call CKGS to follow up?

I am waiting for my son's reissue application to complete as well. Then I will find out if the old US passport arrives back or not. But since I only supplied only ONE return envelope I expect the following three items to return to me together -

1) Expired US Passport
2) New US Passport with U-Visa
3) OCI booklet

I cant imagine that they would incur the expense of sending one of the items separately. Nor do I see any reason why they need to retain it. Wait to see what others say but I would advice you ought to call them. However, Tuesday might be the earliest you can contact them because of the holidays. Keep us posted.

Document to be sent to CKGS once Embassy recieves the OCI approval from India.

what document should I send to CKGS once Washington Embassy gets my approved OCI from India.
I just need to send US passport original, Indian status webpage printout says received at Washington Embassy and covering letter.
I have already sent a prepaid envelope along with my application.
Am I missing anything? Do I need to send prepaid envelope even now?

IF you get an email from CKGS requesting the passport for matchup, I would print and include that email also.

Yes, I did. I was told that the OCI "desk" will be made aware. No updates since then

The date of issue of US passport in the OCI(last page) does not match the date of issue from the US passport. Will this cause an issue in future?

Why can't they see what the date of issue is in the passport and enter that correctly in the OCI ???????????????????

Submitted my parents OCI package to CKGS and initial timeline below but check my signature for updates.

Wow - it took 10 days for the package to get to the Embassy - Advice:if you are closer, go submit in person!

Day 10: 11/03: OCI pkg at Embassy

Received OCI cards and US passports today....Almost took 80 days but could have been quicker if we weren't on vacation when we received an email to send our US passports..
