  • Issues with CKGS Sanfrancisco

Wanted to share horrible experience with CKGS Sanfrancisco and see if anyone else is in the same boat. Applied for my son's indian visa more than a month back. After numerous failed attempts to contact them over phone and email , i decided to go over there personally. To my shock, i was told that they were unable to locate the passport. kept me waiting for 2 days. End of business of second day they found the passport.(One lady sitting next to me told me that her daughter's passport was found in trash bin!!!).

I requested them to send it to consulate/embassy as an emergency case since i had booked my ticked in 2 days. They said 'sure'. Got confirmation email that it was submitted for emergency processing.

It has been 10 days since. No response. If I contact the consulate they ask me to go to CKGS. If I contact CKGS, all i get is that "We have submitted to consulate and there is nothing in our hands. You just have to wait"....

No response. Visited SFO in Person. Only answer is ' it is in processing ' . From Vice-Consul it went to Consul. From Consul it went to Consul General. Consul General is busy touring...These are the excuses. They got their fees 7 weeks back. Now they can sit on the file for ever....

This is how the Indian system works!
The concept of shame and accountability has vanished.
They charge by American standard but provide the service by Indian standards or even worse. $100 = Rs. 100 at the most.

But the hard reality is that these are not isolated incidences but in fact a product of the inherent behavior of the Indian culture.
