name change and OCI card update

Hello,
My wife's middle name and last name changed recently. We have not updated the OCI card to reflect this change. We have a trip planned to India this December and I am afraid we may not be able to get it updated in time for the travel. Could you please tell me if we can make the trip to India with the following document?

1. New US passport with the new name

2. Old US passport with the old name and U-Visa (registered in the old name)

3. OCI card with old name

4. Marriage Certificate

5. Court order issuing the name change

In one of the FAQs I read that individuals between the age 20 ad 50 need not update their OCI card each time they get a new passport. But still want to confirm.

In case its must that we have to update her personal details in the OCI card and the visa before our next travel to India. I would like to know if we can register online for OCI Miscellaneous service before getting the new passport? Her name is updated in the social security office already.

You will most likely have issues at the immigration counter in India. The FAQ states that individuals between the age 20 ad 50 need not update their OCI card each time they get a new passport. But that is meant for people whose information in the new passport has not changed. If you have a new passport with a new name, you are required to update your OCI card to reflect this change.
