  • Help on filling PIO application

    Hello Friends,
I am filling PIO application for my daughter to be filed with CGKS, Atlanta. I am not sure how to fill the items 23 and 24 of the application form. Under 23b and 23c, should I mention passport number, Place of issue of both parents?

Similarly, for questions 24a, if both parents have green card, can we call ourselves as permanent residents of India? The pdf forms do not have space to fill too much details too. Please suggest how to fill these items

    23 (a)
Whether the applicant or his/her parents or grandparents or great grandparents held an Indian passport at any
time, if so details thereof: (enclose photocopy of relevant documents)
    (b)
    Passport Number
    (c)
    Date of issue (DD/MM/YYYY)
    (d)
    Place of issue
    24(a)
Whether the applicant or his/her parents or grandparents or great grandparents was born and was permanently resident in India as defined in the Government of India Act, 1935 * at any time {please see instruction (1) }. If so, following details may be indicated:
    (b)
    Date of birth (DD/MM/YYYY)
    (c)
    Place of birth

    Thanks

Note that 24(a) asks if "parents/grand-parents was born and was permanently resident in India"... it doesn't matter if you have green cards, if you have Indian passport that is enough.
