I was wondering if you could help with the following questions I have about my travel from U.S. to India. I haven't been able to find much information on it online.
My current Indian passport which was issued at the Chicago consulate is expiring on Dec 2, 2014. I am travelling to India from Oct. 20th until Nov. 9th. Someone told me that I cannot travel back to the U.S. since my passport would not have a validity of atleast six months on Nov 9th, 2014. Is that true ?
I will be travelling on my Advance Parole which is valid until June next year.
Can I get my passport renewed while in India using the Tatkal service given that my current passport was issued in the U.S. by the Chicago consulate ?
I would greatly appreciate any input.
