New Minor PIO application and no tracking provided by CKGS NY

I submitted my application to CKGS, NY on Nov 3 2014 and UPS delivered on Nov 4 2014 at 1PM and its been over 6 working days and no tracking information was provided by CKGS. Today is Nov 12 2014 and no update had been received from CKGS that they received my Daughters PIO application and what so ever.

Please let me know if any one knows how to get an update from then. I called customer service twice and they said they will send a message to CKGS NY to look in to this issue as the call center is located in Mumbai, INDIA. MY family is traveling to India on Nov 27th. IS their a way to pull back my application and apply for a Visa.
Call center is not really helping me at all. Does going in person help me any way in this situation. i am 3 hours away from NY CKGS.

Please suggest me on how should i move forward and your experiences.

If all the supporting documentation looks good, your application is probably being processed by the consulate. Given you only have 15 days before you travel, I would suggest you get in touch with the Indian consuate directly and find out if they can expedite it for you.. Key thing at the moment is to first identify whether or not consulate has your application. If they don't just go to CKGS NY and tell you want to cancel the application and apply for visa instead. You should be persistent trying to get hold of somebody in the consulate over the phone. If you can't get hold of them within a day or two, I would suggest you make a trip in person to inquire about the matter.

In most cases, depending on how far they have got with your case, they will expedite it for you as a courtesy or will suggest you an alternate course of action.

Here are some notes from my interesting experience with the process:

1. My status online never changed to "sent to embassy". I had to call to confirm that the application was sent to embassy. I received an email today from Fedex directly that they are preparing my shipment, no news from ckgs yet. So hopefully the card is on its way. The call center folks are well-meaning but don't expect them to change anything. The minimum call waiting time was 30 mins, maximum was 70 mins.
2. By checking tracking id's randomly, I saw that around 20 applications received in mid-October had no "sent to embassy" updates
3. This is very concerning because if your application was incomplete, there is no way to know
4. Applications are processed in batches of 50-60 per day. The median time for processing is 23 days at the NY embassy. The maximum time over the last month was 29 days.
5. About 8-10% of applications are stuck (i.e. status shows sent to embassy but not processed within 30 days)

Got an email from CKGS

Thanks for the reply. I just received an email from CKGS that "Your application for a Person of Indian Origin card has been received and is in process". They provided me with the reference number but the application status shows today's date and the below message.
"Your application has been received and will be submitted subject to verification. 11/13/2014"
May be i have to call Indian Embassy and get an update or expedite it.

It is very unlikely that your application will processed before the end of November.
Application withdrawal combined with visa application should take around 10 days.

I will wait till Nov 26 and if i still dont receive the card i will have to postpone the ticket any ways. Thanks for all the Info.
