Wife's Surname in Indian Passport, Please suggest

My Surname is SINGHAL and my wife surname (before marriage) is GUPTA.
We both already have Indian passport before marriage with our surnames.

After marriage, I got her name added in my passport as SINGHAL
My daughter’s passport has also my wife name as SINGHAL.

But I could not get chance to get modified her last name in her passport (from GUPTA to SINGHAL)
Later I got H1 Visa and she got H4 visa with her surname (GUPTA) because in her passport, her last name is still GUPTA.

Now we are in USA and it is time for our passport renewal for all three of us (Me, my wife and daughter) in USA.
We are fine if we have her any one surname (GUPTA / SINGHAL) in all documents…

I have few below questions…
1. In my passport renewal application, should I give my wife surname as GUPTA (Currently it is SINGHAL)
2. In my daughter passport renewal application, should I give my wife surname as GUPTA (Currently it is SINGHAL)

We want to continue with her last name as GUPTA only, because now this name has been used in many.

Please suggest. Thanks a lot in advance.
