Bank account for new born kid

Hi,
My kid is one month old and I have applied for passport/PIO.
We will be going back to India in couple of years. I want to open an indian bank right away for him and to start saving.
What type of account can i choose and what docs do I need to provide.
If I open NRO/NRE account once going back to India, can it be converted to regular savings account.
