  • PIO - Expired L1B Visa - Valid I94

    Hello All,

MY L1B visa is expired and I am on a valid I-94 till July 2015. I was trying to fill my new born's (US Passport) PIO card and noticed a statement : - "Embassy/Consulate does not accept I-94 as a valid visa status"

In this case, what is the suggestion for my baby to get a PIO or I should go for a visa to enter India ?

Can you confirm, is it CKGS rejected or indian embassy rejected??

My wife VISA has expired & staying with valid I-94. CKGS forwarded the application to Indian embassy?? will it going to be reject?

        Hello All,

Got the answer myself :- sharing this thinking it will be useful for others. In Atlanta consulate, I-94 is a valid document (even though the CKGS website and call center people tell it is not). While applying I confirmed with CKGS delegates in Atalanta that valid I-94 is a valid status and they said "it is valid in Atlanta Indian Consulate" and after 15 working days we got PIO issued. Finally I can relax

disclaimer : my opinion is not legal
