Hi,
I am currently in US with valid L1 visa status. My passport is getting expired soon. I will apply shortly for a re-issue to Washington, DC center through postal mail. While preparing my checklist, i found some issues on the notarized copies:
1. My spouse is in India now, i have her passport photocopies only. Shall i ask her to send the Indian local notarized copies of her passport or shall i be able to notarize in US by showing her passport photocopies? Does Indian Embassy in US accept Indian local notarized copies?
2. I have my original Indian marriage certificate. I hope, my spouse presence is not required while notarizing the marriage certificate in US. Please clarify.
3. I want to provide my Indian address in both the places of passport application form (Address to be printed in Passport and Other address), if i do then i need to provide the notarized copy of Indian address proofs. I have my Indian Drivers License and Bank Statement copy. Does US notary officers deny to notarize the Indian address proof's docs, if they deny then what would be my other options? (FYIP - You can provide Indian address at both the places as per sample passport application form in BLS website)
4. If i am applying through postal mail, then how can i provide the Airway bill number in BLS application form before sending it? Please guide me the process of providing this Airway Bill Number in both the places of BLS form (Application and Prepaid delivery)
