I and my wife are Indian citizens. We are just blessed with a baby. My wife wants to go to India for more than 6 months so that she can get some rest. I believe my daughter cannot stay past 180 days as she is a US citizen. All the reading leads me to apply for OCI for my daughter. But this takes more than 2 months to get the PP and OCI card. Planning to travel sometime end of next month.
Is there any other way my daughter can stay in India for more than 6 months? I know, they can travel to a neighboring country and fly back. But is there any other simpler process? Like going to nearest police station (few years ago, my friend did this. But I don’t know if it’s still the practice) or extending the stay from India?
