OCI / eTV Question

I had a question. I have applied for an OCI card and it's been 4 months and still waiting. It is currently en-route to the embassy.
I need to travel to India in 10 days. I'm planning to apply for an eTV and travel on that.

Someone can collect the OCI (I can send the passport back) while I'm in India. The question is, can I stay beyond 30 days if the OCI comes by that time? Could I return on the OCI card even though I entered on the eTV?

Its never recommended to ship your passport especially international. I would say have fun while in India and deal with it when you come back.
