Passport renewal in India

Hello, I am an F1 student whose passport is due to expire in August next year. I am making a trip to India in December and plan to get it renewed. This may sound very silly but will there be a problem with my passport renewal considering my address? Can I still use my permanent address in India?

No issues.... My friend got it renewed in India within a week and went for stamping and came back to US (on H1 visa). I think within 6months of passport expiry, you can renew it !?
