Name split on Indian Passport

Hi All

I need to do name split on my passport due to the usual 'FNU' problem, and have one doubt.

My Green Card is in process ( I -140 approved). I want to know if name split on passport has any impact/harm on my Green Card processing.

Current Name on Passport

SURNAME - Blank
GIVEN NAME - Gurvinder Singh

I want it to changed to
SURNAME - Singh
GIVEN NAME - Gurvinder

Please advise.

Hope you put in correct name in I-140 and other US immigration related documentation.
To change name in Indian passport, you have to follow change of name process (advertising in india news paper, US news paper where you live and provide the paper cutting from both news papers along with affidavit etc)
