Indian citizenship for US born child and re-entry options.

Hi All,

I am currently in H1B visa and expecting my baby very soon. We planned to go India for few months and return back to US.

I am more interested to get Indian citizenship for my child, Can you please help with my questions ?

1) If I get India passport, Do I need any Visa to continue here for the first few months?

2) Can I able to get H4 dependent visa for him in India?

3) Will there be any issue while exiting US with Indian passport ?

4) Is there any chance to surrender Indian citizenship and get US citizenship in future ?

No. Baby is already a US citizen by birth.

2) Can I able to get H4 dependent visa for him in India?
No. He will not get any kind of visa for the US being a citizen already.

3) Will there be any issue while exiting US with Indian passport ?
No issues to exit. There will be issues to come back with Indian passport.

4) Is there any chance to surrender Indian citizenship and get US citizenship in future ?
While coming back to US you have to get US passport and surrender Indian passport
and get OCI based on Indian passport.
