VISA OR OCI for new born

Hi,

We are expecting a new born.Need a help from seniors on the forum.

We are planning to have the baby in US,but my wife needs to get back to India after 3 months of delivery.

I believe it takes about 1 month to get the US passport and another 4 -6 month for OCI.

Can we get a INDIA Visa on new born's US passport and apply for OCI from INDIA?

Please suggest.
