I need to renounce my Indian citizenship but my middle name on my US passport is slightly different than what is on my old indian passport. I became a US citizen when I was still a minor about 8 years ago so I of course didn't think anything of it back then.
Example of the difference:
Indian Passport: Bob Simpson Jones
US Passport: Bob Simps Jones
The US passport and all my other US Citizenship certificates have the last two letters of my middle name cut off, I have a really long middle name so that may be why it was cut off by them? I don't know and we don't have any documents showing why. Will I run into any issues when I try to renounce my indian citizenship since the middle name is cut off by two characters in my US Passport?
The checklist has the following:
Marriage Certificate showing the name change if the name was
changed at marriage
OR
o Official Court Order for the name change
OR
o Endorsement of name change during naturalization process
But none of those three apply to me. What should I do?
