  • CKGS Additional Particulars Form, Spouse's Nationality Pulldown Menu (4b) Locked

I am a US citizen applying for a Tourist via for India. Yesterday I submitted my Indian government visa application form, and shortly after that received the web reference number, indicating the application has been accepted. Afterwards, yesterday, I started the next step of filling the CKGS' Additional Particulars Form. From the pulldown menu for section 4b (spouse's nationality), I selected American (my wife is a US citizen), and completed remainder of the form, and exited with selection "Save and Temporarily Exit". Today, when I opened that form to verify my entries before submission, I noticed that in section 4b (spouse's nationality) my wife's nationality has been changed to "Chadian", and the selection pulldown menu is "locked" (I am unable to select correct citizenship). I tried exiting multiple times without saving (closing window), but every time I open the form, the section 4b pulldown menu is locked and I am unable to correct my wife's citizenship from "Chadian". It seems like a software error of the CKGS website. I have sent an email to CKGS, but do not expect a reply soon or ever. I am not sure if they (representatives) can correct the software issue, if it is. Do any of you have seen/heard this kind of issue happening, and know how to correct it? Any suggestions/ideas are welcome. Thanks.

I had the same issue when I had the enter the date for when I changed my name in the Additional Particulars form - no matter how much I tried to put the date - it said Dec31, 1969 - when I was not even born.

I called the so called "cust service" - once they told me - you must have entered it wrong and thats why its wrongly populated. I tried to tell him that I was not born then how can I even think of such a date and year. But its crazy out there - those guys have no clue what they say and just want to get over with you and move on. Second time i called the other guy said just attach a letter along with your application. Dont know what is right. Customer service is of no help.

Hope someone can help you who has had the same issue. Sorry I couldne be of much help - just wanted to let you know that you are not alone.

    Good Luck

Thanks for your feedback. So, how did you resolve your issue? I think resubmitting a new visa application to get a new Application ID, and then filling out a new Additional Particulars Form could solve this issue. Any thoughts? Thanks again.

Hahaha - I have not resolved it yet - I am stilll trying to resolve some other issues - but for that I am just going to attach a letter with the application like the last guy told me and I will see what happens - Its not our fault its the problem with their system. I will just tell them that someone at the cust service told me so.

I am going to file a complaint against CKGS (for their poorly designed website and their poor/zero customer service) with the Indian Consulate, SF (http://www.cgisf.org/). There is a link on the SF consulate website to file complaint against CKGS.
