here we go again - stuck in sf consulate for renunciation

My experience is matching samovar's. my renunciation only application thru CKGS is showing 'under process at embassy'. It got to the SF consulate on 3/22, exactly 20 working days back after verification by CKGS.
No replies to the enquiry form I filled out, and CKGS call center is throwing their hands up saying all they can do is ask CKGS SF manager to escalate to consulate with no guarantee that they will even respond. This is truly ridiculous when the SF consulate's own website says for Renunciation : "General processing time period - for US passport holders - 3 to 5 working days (from the day the application is received in the Consulate)."
Any fresh ideas to find out what is happening to my application will be appreciated .

update: minutes after I posted above, I got email from SF CKGS manager " Dear Applicant,
This is in response to your concern. Please be informed that the renunciation process is longer which takes 2-3 weeks."

which is quite confusing because it has already taken 4 weeks.

I don't know if this is exclusive to CKGS or to the SF center. My renunciation went through in the time I indicated. Now, my OCI is stuck in what seems like an interminable state. It was accepted in SF on the 9th of March and dispatched to Delhi on the 16th of March. Today is the 19th of April and all I see is 'Under Process' on the Government of India's website. My only advise is that you should keep calling. That is the only thing within your control and as frustrating as it might be, exercise it.

Will do. I guess I will be following in your footsteps - the plan is to apply for OCI after renunciation certificate comes...expect it will be late summer before I get the OCI, hopefully before the India visa in my US passport expires :-(

3-5 days is not for Renunciation, is Visa

because you have made a incorrect process! why renunciation apply separate with oci? if you apply at the same time you may soon to receive match up request email

Yes, agreed. Should have applied for OCI + renunciation together. BUT, SF CONSULATE SPECIFICALLY SAYS RENUNCIATIONO PROCESS TIME IS 3-5 days (NOT FOR Visa as proonindiandoc says) which is why I thought it made sense to do that first. Anyway, lessons learnt and I am moving on...SF Consulate should fix its website to provide correct expectations too.

Their website has tons things to fix!! like the checklist print out with the OCI form, is old old old never updated requirements, and need to be removed, and the upload photos, signature and documents, WTF they are doing to have hard time to the ppls!! is absolutely not necessarily, but seems added for fun! i feel so sorry to the ppl try again and again to upload and adjust the photo to meet the upload size requirments, probably Embassy is believed their ppl are all in computer engineering level!!
