OCI Re-Issue of New Passport

Greetings. It looks it takes more than 75 business days to get the re-issue of OCI on the new passport as per the response I got from Cox and Kings Global Services as well from the embassy. I was wondering whether anyone recently travelled to Chennai with the OCI on the expired passport for a Kid who is less than 20 years old. This kid had OCI on his old passport(got OCI eight years ago). As the kid need to travel to India in May, it is highly likely that he may not get the passport in time from the outsourcing service vendor. Also there are instances wherein few reported they lost their passport. I would appreciate if anyone can share their recent experience on traveling to India with their OCI on the expired passport for the kids. Somehow I could not search this website for the issue that I am running into. If someone has already shared their experience and happen to have the link, please share that as well.
