  • New Mobile SIM Card for foreig national/OCI

What are the documents required for a new prepaid mobile sim card ?
I am a foreign national with OCI.I have an Indian DL valid
till 2024.The local store and main Office and online service
of the mobile services provider said that my DL is enough ?
I informed all the stores that I am a foreign national.
I have an Indian DL as I am resident in India for a long time and
obtained/changed my nationality later and than got
my OCI.Should I inform the local FRRO or Police special
branch of any new SIM card.Is it OK to send/email this query
to the bureau of immigration ?

I am confused to why you are involving the Bureau of Immigration in the Sim card purchase. If you can provide required documentation to the SIM vendor, that should be fine.

I have submitted my Indian Driving License to get a new SIM.
I was told my passport and oci and other documents were
not required.I acquired my foreign nationality in 2006.
My DL is very old , acquired prior to changing my nationality.
It is renewed and valid till 2024.My question is that the mobile
service provider has no document proving that I am a foreign national.
Which worries me a bit . I wondering if I am within the Legal circumference.

This article , seems concerning, or does this not concern me as I have an OCI and Indian DL.
