  • apply OCI for Indian origin

applicants who is trying to apply OCI with proof of renunciation must submit with OCI together, if submit by postal, please send in one envelope. for family to apply oci, don't send it separate envelope, specially for minor apply base on parents and parents are apply OCI with Renunciation, must send it in one enveloy, or minor will be pending for proof of renunciation from parents, if submit separately.

OCI application Occupation is having lots of rejection because inappropriate answer like: professional, government services, private service. these are going to have a issue, people will either have received a call for clarification or will be guessed by where are they work. in order to answer it properly, please select "others" if your professional is not found from the list.

in addition, PIO holder who was applied base on Indian spouse, strongly recommend do not request OCI in lieu of PIO card because you won't get OCI proved, keep your PIO card, I am pretty sure the PIO card is still going to valid after gaven time June 30th. the percentage of PIO card still valid is much much bigger than you getting the OCI prove, is like 90% versus 1%.

    best regards

Many thousands of folks will have spouse based PIO's because they could not satisfy the requirements for an OCI. If they only have a 1% chance of getting a spouse based OCI are they now in limbo land?

    Best wishes

they actually is not qualify for OCI, tell me what is OCI? oversea Indian Origin, are they Indian Origin? no, they are not blood related to Indian origin. in addition, in case of getting OCI card for foreign spouse, if divorce or deceased of Indian spose, the foreign spoust must surrender the OCI card, but you think they will do so?? that's why is going to take forever process! apply for visa if foreign spouse! i see none of foreign spouse got OCI, is 0 so far

don't know why, but they can do it for favor of keeping all the payment with no refund because once application send to review is no more refund! anyway, don't feel suprise if you are apply based on Indian spouse and application is not moving forward, your application just went into blackhole, that's it.

Ok thanks again. If I need to apply I will do so on the basis of Indian origin, however last time my OCI application was refused by the Embassy because of "lack of evidence" for both parents. I had enough for one parent but not enough for the other and they insisted on both parents. Yet I have read about those whose application was accepted on the basis of proof of one parent.

Ok thank you, will try again if I have to. Last time they did not accept just one parent, as each Embassy seems to have its own rules.

Yes each consular has their own rule, not huge but painful enough for their ppl( Indian origin ). San Francisco is the worst i can tell.
