Existing PIO Card - can we travel to India ?

My Son has a PIO card with life time validity and we have a plan to travel in the month of Aug 2016.

Can we travel with PIO Card to India

The reason , i have not applied for OCI inlue of PIO is of it gets delayed - i would not have passport and pio handy.

I have a plan to apply oci after returning in 1 month.

You can travel using PIO card. I haven't heard any restriction on traveling with PIO card as long as it is valid. You can read the same from indian embassy website.

PIO card validity is only 15 years. If you apply for OCI before june 30th you may not need to pay any fees for conversion.
