Going to India from USA on PIO. Returning back after Jun 30

Hi guys,
My kid has valid pio and US passport.

We are going on vacation on May 30 and planning to come back on Aug 2.
I have a question in regards to this information that no OCI in lieu of PIO will be valid after Jun 30.

Does that mean a PIO holder in India after June 30 becomes illegal and will have issues on returning back? Any response is welcome. Thanks in advance

Talked with CKGS NY.

They say that going on May 30 should not be an issue but for coming back after June 30 , I should check with Bureau of immigration India.
Has somebody called them and tried how good/bad are they at responding.

no worries about returning after June 30th, people to handle the call from CKGS India is lack of experiences. PIO card is still valid after June 30. just the service dead line for in lieu of PIO card. PIO card will be valid at least to the date of expired on PIO
