  • notarized documents for OCI card

    Hello,

Do we have to get the documents notarized while uploading the supporting documents for OCI card (OCI card in-lieu of PIO card) on Government of India OCI website? I know I need to do that while sending the copies of the documents to CKGS, but it in unclear whether notarization is required even for uploading the documents in the website.
Additionally, I am applying this OCI card for my 5 year old daughter. So while self-attesting, does my daughter need to sign the supporting documents? Will her signature would be enough or do I and my wife also need to sign?

    I would appreciate your guidance!

    Best Regards,

Uploaded documents don't need to be notarized.
Any documents for your daughter should be signed by both parents.

When it comes to dealing with the Indian government or their partners - particularly for things like OCI card - I would not take a chance. I would call CKGS customer service at 646-589-0088 and verify this.
