  • OCI "UNDER PROCESS" over a year

Applications first filed for minor (US Citizen) and Spouse (Non-US Citizen of Indian spouse) on March 18, 2015 to CKGS. OCI was processed promptly for the child and received the card in few weeks. Even though both applications were filed together, CKGS somehow lost the application of Spouse and we had to resubmit everything (and by that time their document requirements had changed as well) and after fulfilling all the requirements on July 23, 2015, there has been no updates except for an update on August 7, 2015 that says
"Application is under process at the Embassy/ Consulate for further scrutinization and may take upto 6 to 8 weeks for next update. Please continue tracking your application status online."

We tried to reach out to CKGS many times, but havent received any information so far. Tried calling San Francisco Indian consulate during their call hours (2-4PM), always goes to the voice mail and never gets a call back. Filled their response web form under "contact us" for OCI, havent received any emails back either.

Is there anyone else in the same boat? Any ideas as to what we could do to get this done?

Ok, So emailed CKGS (again) to [email protected] but got a canned response as below.

Thank you for contacting CKGS via.

We understand your concern for OCI card processing time. We request you to allow us time as your query is been forwarded to the concerned team and shall revert with an update shortly.

We appreciate your time and patience in the interim.

The case reference number for this email is: YYYY ZZZ
So we are still waiting for a meaningful response and a resolution. I would think I should be able to contact consulate directly at this point and should be able to to get this resolved, but nobody responds to the phone at the consulate and they dont call back after putting a message. I see that the Vice consul for OCI is BC Joshi. Anyone knows his direct email to contact?
