Alternate to OCI card ?

Hello Friends,

Recently I was trying to apply OCI for my son , but they did not accepted the application as my Work-Permit is expiring in less than 6 months , they asked to renew the work-permit but as this was max extension to Work-permit and we are not planning to apply for PR and would be moving back to India in couple of months
What is alternate way for OCI ? can I apply Visitor Visa or Entry Visa so once I am in India I can apply for OCI

Apply for Entry visa (X type) and you can apply for OCI in India. Tourist visa (T type) has a limit of maximum 6 months stay in India.

I agree. That is the best way. Once you are in India you have time to sit down with the application and head to the FRRO office.

Why would you claim to be an Overseas Citizen of India when you are already a Citizen of India!!!? Do you see any benefit in that or you just love chasing paper?

Isn't he trying to get OCI for his son whom I assume was born in the USA and not a Indian citizen?
